I don't really understand why mediocre pop tunes ride up the charts while fantastic songs like this one vanish without a trace. This 1967 gem from the Stax/Volt vaults has everything you could want in a classic soul song--a killer melody, playful vocals...it was even co-written by Isaac Hayes for gosh sakes. Still, no love from the public at large. Regardless, I can't get it out of my head. Listen here.
