Heartbreaker of the day: "I Don't Want to Get Over You" by The Magnetic Fields

If I wanted to, I could have created a heartbreak mix composed exclusively of Stephin Merritt songs. The Magnetic Fields front man (as well as the leader of The Future Bible Heroes, The Gothic Archies, and The Sixths) has made quite a career of writing love songs sweet, sour and bitter. Here's one from his master work, 1999's "69 Love Songs."

Bonus happy love song: From the same album, "The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side" is the greatest beauty-meets-beast story since Quasimodo rang his bells for Esmeralda.
