Song of the day: "Beauty" by the Tall Dwarfs

One thing that drives me crazy about American pop culture is its exceedingly narrow definition of beauty. (I'm such a big fan of U.K. TV in part because characters look like real people, not Cosmo models.) The Tall Dwarfs, who originally released this song in the early '80s, feel my pain: "Be grateful if your left eye's lower, if each breast has got a different size. Praise God for all things imperfect--for the stretch marks on your thighs." Hear the Tall Dwarfs original, plus a nifty cover by the Magnetic Fields' Stephin Merritt here.
