Cover version of the week: "Jumpin' Jack Flash" by Alex Chilton

After Chilton recorded "The Letter" with the Box Tops but before he signed on with Big Star, he recorded a bunch of tunes on his own, including this cover. Keep in mind that the Stones had recorded the classic original only a year or so before, so it required some "stones" for the then-19-year-old Chilton to do his own take so early. Chilton slows things down to a raunchy swagger. While not quite as great as the source material, it's still a fantastic cover.
