Song of the day: "Kevin's" by Sharon Van Etten
I remember as a kid listening to America's Top 40 on the radio. Casey Kasem was introducing the Police song, "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," explaining that when Sting wrote this catchy love ditty, he wasn't actually in love with anyone. It amazed me that someone could write a song like that without feeling it--he just made it up.
When I listen to Sharon Van Etten, it seems to me that she has either gone through some serious heartbreak, or she's one of the great fakers of the western world. I'll let you be the judge.
